# Installation

> Install the SDK and connect it to your project.

## Requirements

The SDK runs on Node.js 22 or later. It comes with its TypeScript types.

## Install

```bash npm theme={"theme":{"light":"light-plus","dark":"dark-plus"}}
npm install @nelkap/sdk
```

```bash pnpm theme={"theme":{"light":"light-plus","dark":"dark-plus"}}
pnpm add @nelkap/sdk
```

```bash yarn theme={"theme":{"light":"light-plus","dark":"dark-plus"}}
yarn add @nelkap/sdk
```

## Set your keys

The SDK reads two values from your environment:

| Variable | Value |
| - | - |
| `NELKAP_API_KEY` | An API key of your project. |
| `NELKAP_SECRET` | Your project's secret. |

You can also pass them as [options](https://docs.nelkap.com/reference/nelkap.md#options).

## Create your client

Register your workflows, serve them, and start runs with the same client.

```ts nelkap.ts theme={"theme":{"light":"light-plus","dark":"dark-plus"}}
import { Nelkap } from '@nelkap/sdk';
export const nelkap = new Nelkap();
```
