# Account

> Sign in, keep your profile up to date, and see where your account is signed in.

Your account belongs to you, not to a workspace: you keep the same one in every workspace you join. It holds your profile, your workspaces, and your sessions.

Nelkap has no password to remember or to leak. To sign in, enter your email address, and Nelkap emails you a code. Enter the code, and you're in.

* The code works for 10 minutes, and once.
* Asking for a new code replaces the last one.
* After three tries, wait up to 10 minutes before you try again.

Signing in for the first time creates your account. Nelkap writes its emails in the language of the page you first signed in on, English or French.

A session lasts 7 days on a device. After that, you sign in again.

## Profile

Your profile, under General in your account settings, holds your first and last name, your occupation, your country, and your time zone.

The console shows every date in your time zone, which is UTC until you choose yours. Your email address can't be changed, since it's how you sign in.

## Workspaces

Workspaces, in your account settings, lists every workspace you belong to, with your role in each. From there, you can:

* Create a workspace, which you'll own. See [Workspaces and projects](https://docs.nelkap.com/manage/workspaces.md).
* Accept or reject an invitation. See [Members and roles](https://docs.nelkap.com/manage/members.md#accept-an-invitation).
* Leave a workspace. See [Members and roles](https://docs.nelkap.com/manage/members.md#leave-a-workspace).

## Sessions

Sessions, in your account settings, lists every device where you're signed in, with its location and when its session ends.

End any session but the one you're using, for example on a lost laptop: that device has to sign in again. To end the one you're using, sign out.
